You need urgent help to come out of coma -APC replies Osun PDP

The postulation  of a Guinea-Bissau revolutionary and Pan-Africanist, Amilcar Cabral , on what should be the ideal attitudes expected of individuals or groups in the public space remains indelible in the consciousness of every discerning soul.

He said :" Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told". 

This thought of a great thinker continues to serve as a didactic instrument and exhortation of sort,  for individuals or group of people with certain responsibilities to the public and society at large .

Obviously, the vituperation  conveyed through a disjointed statement credited to one character called Sunday Bisi, who claimed to be the spokesperson of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun greatly reflect hallucinated thought of people struggling to come out of coma .

To justify  a globally condemned and threatening action like fake news, quickly reminded Osun citizens of the underlying philosophy of PDP, as a party in the state, which includes indiosycracy for disorderliness and lawlessness.

Of course, the recent fracas at PDP  Secretariat, where some supposed leaders of the party were mercilessly maimed and almost murdered is indeed a pointer to the fact that the party celebrates anarchy and seriously lacks every sense of decency.

The grammatical description of Saheed Akinloye  as an ' innocent scapegoat' simply exposed the conspiracy theory that underlined the notion behind the dastardly act of disseminating fake news by the party,  purposely to cause chaos and paint APC  government black .

Bisi, by his semi-critical mind just revealed that although, Akinloye was an identified purveyor of falsehood and cancerous information, the origin of that content is their party, it was a crime committed by many in which only an individual was held responsible .

Well, we leave the rest to the law enforcement agencies to act on this new revelation. In as much as we are not really surprised by this utter misdemeanor of PDP in the state,  going by it's antecedent and strength of characters  of those  who constitute the party, we are sincerely not aware that the party has deteriorated in value to this sorry state .

It is even pathetic and extremely strange that the  PDP could  accused the government in the state of 'indiscriminate' arrest of its members, although, we later considered such thinking as a fallout of it's comatose condition.

The PDP should know that no one could have been more confused than the party with vulnerable leadership, under a suffocating siege of  political jobbers of means, parading docile gangsters as members.

Moving forward, the party should know that the All Progressives Congress, APC's administration in the state, in line with it's clear cut ideology and guiding principles, will always be at the forefront leading the people with courage and at the back defending with vigour, it will never live in denial to the detriment of it's citizens at any point in time .

Unlike what the PDP administration under Jonathan did that made Nigerians to loose hundreds of innocent and promising girls to Boko Haram terrorists on April 14, 2014, in Chibok, through crass ineptitude and lack of proactiveness,  the APC goverment moved swiftly to flatten the coronavirus curve and protect the citizenry against the killer disease .

The APC government , contrary to PDP's penchant for putting the populace in the dark to cover maladministration and bad governance has been constantly keeping the people informed about efforts being put in place to contain the spread of the virus and its current trend .

It is exactly what the government in the state of Osun has been doing even before the fist index case surfaced in the state on 24th March, the responsive and proactive move that has greatly helped in managing confirmed cases professionally and perfectly without blemish.

The speedy recovery of  18 confirmed cases within the short period gives credence to seriousness on the part of government and level of preparedness as responsible goverment.

The prompt response of the government towards the 127 returnees from Ivory Coast, not even minding that some of them were not indigenes of the state has been widely applauded and generally agreed to have averted  a National calamity.

Strictly speaking, and beyond illogical wailing and ranting of comatose party, the intervention of the Osun State government in the quest of mapping out the dreaded coronavirus pandemic has been fantastic and commendable .

That some returnees claimed not to  have the virus even after testing positive for the virus as a result of thorough and painstaking medical examination  is explicitly understandable.

This is a novel virus that still remain intrinsically strange and alien to many, more so, going by the orientation of the returnees, who were coming from a county where the pandemic was conceived as a farce, in which some  even went further to raze isolation centres, every sound and sincere  mind should expect such initial reaction .

Indeed and in truth, no any sane individual could visit the emergency isolation centre at Ejigbo and complain of any inadequacy. Despite the sudden need to set up the centre, the medical equipment and personnel deployed there were  in tandem with global standard adopted widely to manage coronavirus patients .

It is therefore idiotic of anyone to even conceive that there was any  'foul play' at the centre in the first place,  not to talk of saying it out . 

On palliatives given by the government and attendant issues, one must first and foremost agree that no goverment anywhere in the world,  during an emergency situation of this nature can provide palliatives for all her citizens , and that is why governments always reach out to individuals of means to complement it's efforts.

Also, it is an indisputable  fact that there is bound to be unscrupulous individuals in any human assemblage, who are pathologically structured to sabotage laudable efforts and cause confusion, so, it is against this backdrop that the state government, through the Commissioner of Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode  issued a release to react to the alleged 'adulterated' rice and promised to investigate and ascertain what could have gone wrong.

The statement, while reiterating the commitment of the present administration in the state towards protecting the people against any form of threat also pledged to decisively dealt with anyone found culpable of  such act of sabotage and insincerity.

Yes, this  is a sincere government with appreciable level of humility to take responsibility and display of democratic ethos   of listening to dissenting voices without coercion .

On a final note, the APC government in the state of Osun will continue to provide purposeful leadership to the good people of the state, with selfless commitment to people's welfare and security.

Point blankly, the government will never allow any individual or group to cause crisis in the state and jeopardise the existing  sustainable peace, as a  lawful and democratic goverment, it will always rely on the prowess of the law to address deviant tendencies .

It is on that note that we implore spirited Nigerians and well wishers to quickly come to the aid of PDP in Osun and help it out of coma; this hallucination is indeed  a big threat to civility.
