Determination of Gov Oyetola is to bring prosperity to all, says Osun Dep Gov as he receives accolades from the people of Ikire.

A great philosopher William Shakespeare has once said in his word, ' some are born great, some achieve greatness and some has greatness trust upon them".

One of those who have achieved greatness in life is Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi the present deputy Governor in the state of Osun whose life has become a blessing to the people of his immediate environment, Ikire , the state and beyond.

No wonder the sons and daughters of the ancient town both at home and in diaspora irrespective of their political affiliations or whatever differences gathered together under the umbrella of  National Ikire Progressive Union (IPU)  on Friday in the ancient community for a reception in honour of their own, the deputy Governor of the State of Osun who is a son of the soil Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi.

The traditional ruler of the ancient town, Akire of Ikire Oba Olatunde Falabi Lambeloye III at the coloful reception organised in honour the deputy Governor held at Ikire  made a surprised pronouncement and an unexpected move as he used the occasion to install the number two citizen of the state with a chieftaincy title as the Bobasaye of Ikire kingdom

At the historic event, the Akire of Ikire, the National president of the (IPU) Professor Peter Olaitan represented by his wife , the state supervisor for finance, commerce and industry Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji and some eminent personalities of Ikire  in their tributes appreciated the deputy Governor for the transformation and good impact he has made in the lives of the people of his community even within the short period of his  emergence.

They highlighted some of the numerous impacts to include the restoration of regular power and water supplies to the ancient community as well as the rehabilitation of Ikire/ Apomu/Ikoyi major township roads, the ongoing revitalization of Ikire general hospital and  healthcare centers among others.

According to them, it is a rear privilege and first of it's kind for Ikire to occupy the seat of the number two citizen in the state.

They also commended the state Governor Mr Gboyega Oyetola and the APC led administration for the commitment to the general wellbeing of the people.

They described Mr Alabi as a worthy son like his father late  Mr John Alabi popular called Oyinbo Dudu, who  was committed to the progress of the ancient town.

Oba Falabi who was flanked by the Olukoyi of Ikoyi Oba Yisau Bamitale Otunla said the chieftaincy title conferred on the deputy Governor although made in a surprise manner without a prior knowledge was in recognition of his total commitment to the cause of his immediate community.

In his response at the reception organised in his honour, the state of Osun deputy Governor dedicated the honour done him to his boss Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the APC led administration.

Mr Alabi gave thanks to God for the grace and to the people of Ikire for their support at all time.

He seized the opportunity to reassure the people of Ikire and the entire state about the serious determination and commitment of Governor Gboyega Oyetola's led Government to improve the living conditions of the people, revive and develop the economy of the state through Agriculture, Tourism and Mining sectors for the prosperity of all and sundary.
