TMO’S DEMOCRACY DAY MESSAGE : On June 12, We Remember the Lighthouse
On this day of reflection and remembrance, I send warm greetings to the good people of Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo Otin Federal Constituency, to every son and daughter of Osun State, and to Nigerians across continents. This message comes from Tele Oyegoke, TMO.
June 12 stands as a lighthouse in the storm of our nation’s history. It is a date forged by the courage of Chief M.K.O. Abiola, the resolve of Kudirat Abiola, the voice of Gani Fawehinmi, the pen of Beko Ransome Kuti, and countless unsung patriots who refused to bow. They sowed the seeds of freedom with sacrifice, sweat, and blood. Their struggle was the storm that birthed the dawn we now call democracy.
Today, the challenge at hand is not just to remember, but to protect what they won. The flame they lit must not flicker out in our hands. As we mark this day, let wisdom guide our choices. May we place nation above self, unity above division, and progress above comfort. Nation building is like weaving a great cloth. Each citizen must add their thread of peace, justice, and hard work.
Let us stand with government at every level, fortify the walls of our institutions, confront insecurity with courage, and till the soil so prosperity can take root.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and every Nigerian.
Signed:
Tele Oyegoke (TMO)
