Defection Wave Hits Accord Party in Odo-Otin as APC Gains Ground Ahead of Osun Governorship Poll
A fresh round of political realignments is unfolding in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a significant influx of new members, intensifying early momentum ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
According to party sources, no fewer than 300 members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Accord Party have defected to the APC, in what is described as a notable shift in the local political landscape.
The defections were facilitated by Hon. Francis Damilare Eniade, a House of Representatives aspirant for the IBO Federal Constituency, who formally received the new entrants into the party.
Eniade said the move signals growing confidence in the APC’s agenda, pledging to work with both old and new members to strengthen unity and grassroots development in the area.
Among those who switched allegiance are Mr Claro Sayo, Mr Raji Sikiru, Aliyu Muritala, and Adeeri Tosin, all of whom publicly declared their support for the APC and its candidates in the upcoming election.
