AIO Celebrates Fathers, Calls for Value-Based Leadership Across Communities.

In commemoration of this year’s Father’s Day celebration, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and House of Representatives hopeful for Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, and Ila Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin (AIO), has extended warm felicitations to fathers across Nigeria, describing them as “the pillars upon which families, communities, and even nations stand.”

In a statement personally signed by the APC stalwart and made available to journalists on Sunday, AIO emphasized the crucial role fathers play in nation-building, character formation, and community stability, noting that fatherhood goes beyond provision and protection to include moral guidance, spiritual leadership, and social responsibility.

“A father is not defined merely by biology but by duty. He is a compass for the family, a voice of wisdom for the youth, and a pillar of strength for society. In every thriving nation, strong men have stood silently in service, shaping generations and guiding legacies,” the statement read.

AIO noted that in a time where moral decay and political desperation have created gaps in values, the need to uphold the virtues of responsible fatherhood is more urgent than ever. According to him, just as fathers are central to family growth, value-driven political leadership is essential to national development.

The APC chieftain also used the opportunity to honour one of the nation’s most respected political figures, Chief Abdulkareem Adebisi Akande, the Asiwaju of Ila-Orangun, whom he described as “a national father figure and a symbol of progressive wisdom whose legacy continues to inspire a generation of emerging leaders.”

“Baba Akande has shown us that true political fatherhood is not about control but about conviction, not about privilege but about purpose. He listens, he teaches, he uplifts. That is the kind of leadership we must emulate, compassionate, insightful, and deeply rooted in service to the people,” AIO stated.

Reacting to the challenges facing many Nigerian families, AIO commended fathers who continue to brave economic hardship, insecurity, and social instability just to give their families a fighting chance. He said such fathers deserve not only recognition but also policies that support their roles as heads of households and agents of development.

“Our policies must reflect our respect for fathers. If we must build a progressive society, we must empower the head of the home economically, socially, and spiritually,” he added.

AIO concluded his message by reaffirming his commitment to community-based, family-friendly leadership that places the welfare of constituents above all else. He described fatherhood as a template for the kind of leadership he intends to offer at the national level. Principled, disciplined, and development-oriented

 “Let every father be encouraged today. Your work is not in vain. Your effort matters. Your strength gives rise to strong homes, and strong homes build strong communities. May your days be long, and may your impact outlive you,” the statement concluded.
