Elderstateman, Alhaji Oyedokun Visits Family Of Ex-oyo Governor, Dr. Olunloyo As One Of The Three Legs Of The Tripod Stand Bids The World Goodbye

Dr. Aderonke Olunloyo, wife of the former Governor of old Oyo State, Dr Victor Omololu Olunloyo has described Chief Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun, Dr. Saka Balogun and her deceased husband as the proverbial three great legs of the political tripod stand which does not upturn the soup.

Dr. Aderonke made the remark when Chief Oyedokun from Osun State and Dr Saka Balogun (residing in Ibadan) both arrived Olunloyo's residence in Ibadan on Monday, 7th April 2025 to pay condolence visit to the wife of the deceased.

"During the tenure of Dr Olunloyo as the Governor of Oyo State, Chief Oyedokun was the Secretary to the Government while Dr Balogun was the Finance Commissioner, with the three of them (being the brain box of the Executive Council) sharing a common bond and collaborative approach to governance and growth of the state." Dr Aderonke Olunloyo recalled with nostalgia. 

Indeed, it was a time in which the emotional response to the death of the former Governor who died eight days to his 90th birthday filled the remaining two Elder statesmen (Oyedokun and Balogun) with a range of emotional grief as they recalled the dynamics of their relationship.

When the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Debo Ogundoyin arrived at the residence to console the Olunloyo's family, another surviving Elder statesman who was the Chairman of the Broadcasting Corporation in the old Oyo State, Alhaji Aliyu Dokun Oyedeji Dodo and Chief Oyedokun happily recalled the enduring bonds of team Spirit with which other party Elders, including the late father of the Speaker, Chief Ogundoyin worked strategically for the progress of the Olunloyo's administration which though was short lived.

Chief Oyedokun later visited the family of Alhaji Yekini Ayoade Adeojo who died recently and consoled the family of the astute industrialist, active political player, strategist and devout Muslim.

The Elderstateman prayed for the repose of the deceased and encouraged his children and the entire family to emulate the good works and the legacy of their father.

Recall that Alhaji Yekini Adeojo died on Friday, 4th April 2025, Meanwhile, Dr Omololu Olunloyo died on Sunday 6th April 2025.
