—Says appointee's experience will navigate nation's inland waterways

The Aragbiji of Iragbiji Oba Abdur-Rasheed Olabomi Odundun IV has congratulated the Asiwaju of Ikire land and newly appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, just as the new NIWA helmsman assumed office on Monday.

The monarch in a congratulatory statement issued by his media office on Tuesday lauded President Tinubu over Oyebamiji's appointment, describing it as "well-deserved" given the appointee's antecedents and vast experience in Banking and Finance Industry, managerial prowess as well as in active and proactive public service.

He also acknowledged and expressed royal gratitude to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola for his recommendation of Oyebamiji to the President for appointment as NIWA MD/CEO, saying "Oyetola represents exemplary, selfless, equitable and compassionate leadership in politics".

Oba Olabomi in the statement further said: "With Oyebamiji's over 28 years of working experience in the Banking and Finance sector as well as his eight years of experience in public service as Finance Commissioner in Osun State, NIWA, no doubt, would be driven by experience and financial-cum-administrative expertise".

"As a Chartered Banker and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Economists of Nigeria, we have no doubt that the new MD/CEO would engender the best form of practice in paddling and navigating the canoe of leadership in his administration of the nation's inland waterways", Aragbiji said.
