As part of efforts to consolidate grassroots support ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election, Ọlọ́hunláláró has rounded off another phase of his intensive community engagement across Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area.

The final phase of the engagement brought him into direct contact with a broad spectrum of traders, artisans, market leaders and business associations whose activities contribute significantly to the commercial life of Ikirun.

Among the groups engaged were the Iyaloja, Oja-Oba Butchers Association, Hausa Community, general traders, Telecom and Accessories Sellers, Foam and Bed Sellers, Paint Sellers, and Wears Sellers.

The engagements provided an avenue for Ọlọ́hunláláró to listen directly to the concerns, expectations and aspirations of the various groups while discussing issues bordering on economic development, improved business opportunities, effective leadership and government policies that place the welfare of ordinary citizens at the centre of governance.

The interactions also reinforced the importance of sustained grassroots participation in the democratic process, particularly among traders, artisans and small business owners who remain critical stakeholders in the economic development of the state.

The various groups appreciated the outreach and the opportunity to engage directly on issues affecting their livelihoods. They expressed optimism about the future of Osun State and the need for leadership capable of creating an enabling environment for businesses and communities to thrive.

Speaking during the engagements, Ọlọ́hunláláró thanked the traders, artisans, market leaders and community representatives for their warm reception and openness. He urged them to remain united, peaceful and committed to exercising their civic responsibility as the state approaches the August 15 governorship election.

The latest engagements mark another significant step in the ongoing grassroots mobilisation, with the campaign structure reaffirming its commitment to reaching the people directly, listening to their concerns and building a stronger connection between leadership and the communities.

With the election just around the corner, the message from the grassroots remains one of unity, participation and determination for a new direction in Osun State.
