There was excitement across Obokun Local Government Area as the administration of the Executive Chairman, Engr. Maaroof Kayode Ogundipe, MNSE, commenced the payment of salaries to sacked O'YES Cadets, disengaged teachers, and health workers who have now been reintegrated into the local government workforce.

The development marks a significant milestone in the efforts of the Ogundipe-led administration to restore hope to affected workers who lost their appointments following their sack upon the assumption of office of Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration on November 27, 2022.

In a statement by the Media and Strategic Communication Unit, Office Of The Chairman, Obokun LGA, the affected workers have not only been officially reintegrated into the workforce but have also begun receiving their salaries, with payments already effected and beneficiaries successfully credited.

The Chairman, Engr. Ogundipe, described the move as part of his administration's commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and the welfare of workers who have continued to contribute to grassroots development despite facing prolonged uncertainty over their employment status.

He noted that the local government recognizes the importance of human resources in driving effective service delivery and community development, stressing that no government can achieve meaningful progress without a motivated and adequately supported workforce.

As part of the intervention, the administration also approved an upward review of the monthly stipend of O'YES Cadets from its previous amount of #12,500 to ₦50,000, a move widely applauded by beneficiaries and stakeholders across the local government.

The increase, according to the council leadership, is aimed at improving the welfare of the cadets and cushioning the effects of prevailing economic realities while encouraging greater productivity and commitment to community service.
