In commemoration of the 2025 International Youth Day, Hon. Chief Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin (AIO), a proud youth himself and a respected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, and Ila Federal Constituency, has extended warm greetings to the youth of Nigeria, particularly those within his constituency.

AIO used the occasion to reaffirm his firm belief in the transformative power of young people when guided by the virtues of discipline, sacrifice, and service to humanity.

Quoting his heartfelt conviction, he said, "My hope for the future lies in the youth of my character: intelligent, willing to renounce everything for the service of others, and obedient. They should be beneficial to themselves and to the country at large."

He noted that the youth, as the heartbeat of the nation, carry the sacred responsibility of shaping a future that is prosperous, equitable, and peaceful. He emphasized that this vision can only be achieved when young people embrace selflessness over selfishness, community growth over personal gain, and moral uprightness over shortcuts.

AIO further stressed that intelligence without integrity is dangerous and passion without discipline is wasteful. In his words, “A generation of youth equipped with sound education, constructive thinking, and a spirit of sacrifice will not only uplift their families but will also build the kind of Nigeria we all dream of, one where opportunities are abundant, leadership is accountable, and justice is for all.”

As a youth himself, AIO said he understands the hopes, dreams, and frustrations of today’s young generation and will continue to use his voice, influence, and resources to open more doors of opportunity for them.

He also commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for his continued commitment to youth development and empowerment. He acknowledged the various initiatives of the Tinubu-led administration aimed at creating jobs, supporting entrepreneurship, and enhancing technical and vocational skills among young Nigerians. According to him, these efforts, if sustained and expanded, will serve as a strong foundation for the nation’s socio-economic transformation.

He called on government at all levels to complement the President’s initiatives by creating enabling environments for youth to thrive, from quality education and skill acquisition to political inclusion and community leadership opportunities. AIO equally urged the private sector, community leaders, and civil society groups to play active roles in nurturing young minds and providing platforms where their talents can flourish.

Highlighting the timeliness of this year’s International Youth Day, AIO encouraged the younger generation to channel their energy towards nation building, resist the temptations of social vices, and remain steadfast in the face of challenges. “The greatness of any nation is measured not just by the wealth of its resources but by the quality and character of its youth. Let us build youths who are problem solvers, bridge builders, and vision bearers,” he said.

Concluding his message, AIO prayed for the youth across Nigeria to enjoy divine guidance, protection, and the courage to be agents of positive change in their communities. He pledged his continued support for youth oriented initiatives and promised to champion policies and programs that prioritize their empowerment and development.

With a note of inspiration, he reminded them that the future is not a distant reality but something they are creating today through every choice, every action, and every word.
