...I'm moved by massive turnout - Oyebamiji

The leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2026 poll in Osun state, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, was today warmly welcomed  by the leadership and members of the party in Ede Federal Constituency.

The trio of Ede-North, Ede-South and Egbedore Local Governments in Ede Federal Constituency stood still as youths in their numbers stormed major streets of Ede in endurance trek in the earlier hours to show their love and acceptance for AMBO project.

Addressing the enthusiastic leaders and  members of the party in the federal constituency, Oyebamiji expressed confidence in the ability and capacity of the party to unseat the incumbent Governor.

He lauded the leadership and members of the party for their resoluteness which had helped to build a formidable structure capable of delivering the party come 2026.

Oyebamiji who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, appealed for support from the party loyalists just as he reaffirmed his competence to administer the affairs of the state.

"We are here today to seek your support for the realisation of my ambition and I want to assure you that by God's grace, if I become the governor come 2026, I will not disappoint you.

"We are surprised at the turnout of people in Ede North and Ede Local Governments. We have a lot of people  here, despite the fact that this is the home town of the incumbent Governor.

"I am happy because we have committed APC members that came out and this is an encouragement for me to push more. The summary is that come August 08, 2026, APC is going to defeat PDP in Ede and other parts of the state.

"My message to our party is that we must continue to work together in unity. This is a friendly match. All of us are qualified but we must do it in a way that we will work together to deliver Osun for APC in 2026", Oyebamiji added.

Oyebamiji used the visit to dispel the insinuations making the round that AMBO Movement had appointed those that would work with him as cabinet members if elected a Governor, stressing that "this is a blatant lie."

"I want to dispel the rumour going the round that I've already chosen some of the people I will appoint as cabinet members if I become the governor. That is a lie. I didn't appoint anyone and I've not spoken about such with anybody and nobody discussed anything of such with me. This is a white lie from the pit of the hell. All that are supporting us truly believe in the cause and they are formidable and resilient", he maintained.

Immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico and two-term Speaker Osun State House of Assembly, Ambassador Adejare Bello assured the readiness of the leaders and members of the party to work for APC victory in the federal constituency.

He spoke glowingly about Oyebamiji's good track-records,  reaffirming the party leaders' commitment to work assiduously for the return of APC to government come 2026.

Leaders of the party in the federal constituency, Hon. Debo Akanbi, Hon. Gbadebo Ajao, Hon. Abiodun Awolola, Hon. Akinola Omolaoye, Hon. Mufutau Oyewale, Hon. Ojo Johnson among others described Oyebamiji's performance while serving as finance commissioner as outstanding and topnotch. They threw their unflinching support behind his candidacy just as they encouraged the party members to continue to give their unalloyed support for the party in its quest to return to power next year.

Recall that AMBO Movement had earlier visited AYIWOLA Federal Constituency in Olaoluwa, Ayedire and Iwo Local Government Areas where the team members were greeted by the excited constituents.
