Executive Director, Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority Commiserates With Victims Of Niger Flood.
The Executive Director, Engineering Services in the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Hon. Kayode Sowade has commiserated with victims of recent floods in Niger State, Nigeria.
The affected communities in Mokwa Local Government and other parts of the state are currently grappling with the aftermath of the disaster, with lives lost, homes destroyed, and livelihoods disrupted.
"My thoughts are with the families and victims of this calamity, who are struggling to come to terms with the magnitude of their loss.
"The floods have not only claimed lives but also left many without shelter, food, access to medical care and other basic necessities of life. The destruction of their homes and farmlands, has further exacerbated the situation, leaving communities isolated and vulnerable.
"As I commiserate with the affected families and victims, I want to encourage them to be resilient and strong.
"I trust in the proactiveness of the federal government through the necessary ministries and agencies to provide immediate intervention that would guarantee relief, just as I believe the necessary MDAs would interface with the Niger State government to provide relieve that would mitigate the gruesome effect of the flooding and further find ways to combat future occurrence of this damaging calamity.
"In this difficult time, my prayers are with the bereaved families, the displaced, and those who have lost their livelihoods. I pray for the souls of those who have lost their lives and for the speedy recovery of those affected.
