OYEBANJI'S RE-ELECTION AFFIRMS THAT PERFORMANCE WINS ELECTIONS, SETS TONE FOR APC VICTORY IN OSUN ON AUGUST 15

The APC Governorship Campaign Council congratulates Governor Abiodun Oyebanji for his emphatic and resounding re-election victory at the Saturday's poll in Ekiti. His overwhelming victory is not accidental, It is the reward for visionary leadership, prudent management of the state resources and a deliberate commitment to policies and programmes that have positively impacted the lives of Ekiti people as well as the popularity of our great party, APC. 

The Council also described the dismal performance of Governor Ademola Adeleke's Accord Party in Saturday's election as a clear indication of the crushing defeat awaiting Governor Ademola Adeleke and his adopted political platform in the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

No amount of propaganda, image laundering, political advertising or state-funded promotion can transform a platform that lacks public acceptance into a viable political force.

The result is a loud rejection of the Accord Party and a clear signal that Governor Adeleke's political calculations are headed for failure.

The situation is even more pathetic in Osun State, where Governor Adeleke's dwindling popularity has become increasingly evident due to his administration's poor performance and misplaced priorities.

Rather than investing public resources in critical infrastructure capable of improving the lives of ordinary citizens, the administration has expended enormous resources on projects with little or no direct benefits to the people.

Osun citizens are particularly concerned that while roads, schools, healthcare facilities and other essential infrastructure continue to deteriorate, the government committed about N92 to sustain the stomach infrastructure of the governor rather than sustainable development.

The people of Osun have also observed that this administration appears more interested in serving itself than serving the public. While key officials and political appointees benefited from luxury vehicles worth over N13 billion, the government failed to provide buses that could ease transportation challenges facing the public and enhance mobility for security agencies carrying out critical operations across the state.

It is therefore not surprising that the people of Osun have continued to lose confidence in Governor Adeleke and his administration.

This growing dissatisfaction was clearly demonstrated on Saturday in Iwo, where our great party successfully inaugurated nearly ten thousand (10,000) unit campaign canvassers for the election of our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

The unprecedented enthusiasm witnessed across Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa Local Government Areas during the inauguration, which attracted both party members and non-party supporters, provides further reassurance that AMBO remains the overwhelming choice of the people ahead of the governorship election.

Residents across the Iwo Federal Constituency are particularly aggrieved by what they consider the neglect of the Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road, a critical economic corridor whose deplorable condition continues to inflict hardship on commuters, traders and businesses. Many citizens have questioned why resources were not prioritised towards the completion of this strategic road project, which started under the last APC administration, while attention was instead directed to projects with inconsequential gains to the people. 

Indeed, people across Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa, just like other citizens of Osun State, continue to question the rationale behind the N99.5 billion Ede Airport project at a time when roads across the state remain in deplorable condition and basic infrastructure is crying for urgent intervention.

They are enraged that the Ede Airport project which would gulp nearly N100 billion was awarded to an interior decoration company, Ila road project to clearing and forwarding company and other critical projects to unqualified firms owned by cronies and family members of the governor.

The Campaign Council therefore expresses profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government for rescuing the people of Osun through the re-award of the Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road project to a competent construction company for completion. This intervention demonstrates the commitment of the APC-led Federal Government to the welfare and economic prosperity of Osun people.

It is one of the many reasons why the people of Osun are increasingly aligning with the APC. They recognise that an APC government in Osun State, working harmoniously with the APC-led Federal Government, will unlock greater opportunities, attract more developmental projects and deliver more meaningful benefits to the people.

The people are tired of a governor who steals people's money through a N13.7 billion yearly ghost work fraud. 

The outcome of the Ekiti governorship election has once again shown that the electorate rewards performance and punishes complacency.

The people of Osun are equally discerning. They understand that governance is a sacred trust and that leadership must always be measured by its impact on the lives of the people.

We are confident that on August 15, the electorate will peacefully and democratically render their verdict through the ballot box by voting overwhelmingly for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and the All Progressives Congress.
