PETER POWER VISITS ELDERSTATESMAN, ALHAJI OYEDOKUN HOURS AFTER DUMPING PDP.
A few days after dumping the People's Democratic Party (PDP), an Ikire born Politician, Dr. Peter Adebayo Babalola, popularly known as Peter Power has visited an Elderstatesman, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun in his Inisa hometown, during which they discussed the current State of Osun State among other pertinent issues.
According to a statement issued by Prince Adeniran Kilomodemo Ibitoye, also known as KLM, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Oyedokun welcomed Elder Babalola with open arms and joy, noting that he made the right decision by dumping the PDP, as he opined that a politician of his calibre deserves a party that knows his worth and value.
Alhaji Oyedokun further charged Dr Peter Babalola, the immediate former Chairman of the Governing Council of the Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun to pitch his tent with the APC, adding that the party is a home of the progressives where high value is placed on the leaders and members of the party.
"My Joy knew no bound when I heard about your decision to dump the PDP as it was obvious that the party has lost direction, value and no wonder why people like myself, yourself and many others decided to leave when the ovation was loud. While I look forward to when the APC will officially welcome you to the party, I personally welcome and congratulate you for joining the moving train."
The Elderstatesman further assured him that the APC is a party that values his members, noting that he will not have any reason to regret pitching his tent with the party.
"I can assure you that you will not have any course to regret joining the moving train because the political evangelism continues and it would ravage the PDP in due course, no matter how they run helter skelter to bribe and lure people to stay in PDP and offer them with temporary positions and funds"
On his part, Elder Babalola who is now described as "Peter power ACTION" said he decided to visit Alhaji Oyedokun out of his respect for his personality as he also dismissed insinuations that he was suspended, adding that he voluntarily tendered his resignation letter based on personal reasons.
Meanwhile, in a statement signed by its Directorate of Media and Information Director, Chief Kola Olabisi, the Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had earlier hailed the resignation of former Chief of Staff, Dr Babalola, which came barely 24 hours after a former governorship aspirant, Barrister Kayode Oduoye, who stepped down for Governor Ademola Adeleke, also dumped the PDP.
Also, a few months ago, Prince Dotun Babayemi, leader of the defunct "Atunto Group" led thousands of his supporters to join the APC during which he reiterated his unalloyed loyalty and support for the party.
You will recall that Babalola, one of the pillars of the PDP in Osun state who hails from Ikire in Irewole Local Government Council Area of the state, submitted his letter of resignation to the State Chairman of the party in Osogbo, the state capital, on Tuesday.
