In what further attested to the fact that Elder Stateman, Alhaji Shuiab Afolabi Oyedokun is a force to reckon with in the political space in Osun and beyond, a former Lawmaker, who represented Osun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly (2011-2015), Senator Mudasiru Oyetunde Hussein has paid a private visit to Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun in his country home at Inisa.

Senator Hussein who was one of the stronghold of the unregistered faction of the party, The Osun Progressives (TOP) which later metamorphosed into Omoluabi group recently during the visit of the state party chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal to Ejigbo, publicly renounced the group and promised to work for the success of the Osun APC in 2026.
The former Lawmaker, a two term member of the House of Representatives (1999–2007) who represented Oshodi-Isolo federal constituency under Alliance for Democracy (AD) during his visit to Baba Oyedokun pledged his support to the leadership of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola and the party's Chairman, Sooko Lawal.

In a statement signed by a prominent member of the Osun APC, Prince Adeniran Kilomodemo Ibitoye also known as KLM, Senator Hussein promised to work more on other aggrieved members of the party in order to reposition the APC ahead of the 2026 election.

"This visit is such that can best be described in yoruba language as *Abewo Omo si Baba*, I am here to visit not just an Elder Stateman, but, my Father, who has demonstrated the attributes of a true leader and mentor. I am glad to be here with Baba, because, I am sure that this visit has served as an opportunity for me to tap from Baba's wealth of experience and wisdom." Hussein said.

Alhaji Oyedokun in his own words thanked the distinguished Senator for the visit and his comeback to the main fold of the party, noting that his return will in no small measure add value to the party

"I am delighted about Hussein's visit today, he has demonstrated the attribute of a true Progressives and a true Yoruba son, because, his decision to visit me and also comeback to join other Progressives is a thing of Joy and I pray that God will honour him." Oyedokun said.

It would be recalled that during a recent stakeholders' meeting which was hosted by Baba Bisi Akande at his country home, Ila Orangun, it was affirmed that there is a need for all the leaders to work together for the success of the party in 2026 and beyond.

Baba Akande during the meeting charged all leaders to prevail on their followers to work for the unity and success of the party as he urged all aggrieved members of the Osun APC to place the party's interest over personal interest.
