Governor Oyetola fulfills another promise for youths and women ...As 2000 get start-up grant
Governor, the State of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola on Tuesday, fulfilled part of his campaign promises as no fewer than 2000 youth and women have received grants to start their businesses.
This is just as the beneficiaries who were mainly women and youths pledged their unwavering support for Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola administration.
The beneficiaries have learned different vocational training in the programme facilitated by National Directorate of Employment in conjunction with the Osun State Ministry of Human Resources and Capacity Building led by Alhaja Latifat Giwa, (Commissioner for Human Resources and Capacity Building).
The scheme was tagged "Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme (MEES).
Speaking at the event tag "Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme (MEES)" held at Staff Development Center behind Secretariat Abere, Honourable Bello Luqman Abimbola, SSA on Social Intervention Programme to the governor (SSA-SIP) gave kudos to trainees for their good behavior during the training and used their startup judiciously.
He also used the opportunity to highlight the achievements of government of the day under the leadership of governor Adegboyega Oyetola on social intervention programme and other sectors of the government.
In her remarks, Commissioner for human resources and capacity building, Hon. Latifat Giwa gave thanks to Almighty Allah and Governor Oyetola for his kind gesture towards the success of the programme.
She said, "At the initial stage, the thought was to give them free training but the governor insisted that the trainees must get a startup money and materials of which he fulfilled his promise."
In his remarks, Mr S. A Aina, Permanent Secretary of Osun State Ministry of Human Resources and Capacity Building implored the beneficiaries to make use of the startup judiciously to make the aim and objectives of the ministry come to reality.
Mr Ismail Yekeen, the State Coordinator of National Directorate of Employment (NDE), who represented the DG, thanked the State Government for the support the agency received from them all the time and promised their total support for the State to eradicate poverty.
On behalf of beneficiaries, Olanrewaju Oladosu, who is also an handicap, thanked the government for the opportunity given to them through the programme by making sure they can put food on their table and pray for successful tenure of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

Taiwo Akeju (Commissioner for Political aAffairs and Intergovernmental Relation), Mr S.A Aina (Permanent Secretary), Mr Omisakin (Director of Labour and Industrial Relation), Mrs Abioye (Director of Public Service Establishment), Mr Oyelami (Director SDC), Mrs M. O. Oginni (Director MPT), Mrs. A Omotoso (Director DAS), Mr. W. O Fatoki (Director F &A) and Mr. M. O Olabode (Deputy Director SDC).
