Oyetola's Landmark Achievements, Magical- Olu Aina
An elder statesman in the state of Osun, Professor Olu Aina has described the giant strides achieved by Oyetola as magical.
He said this against the backdrop of the financial status of the state which is dwindling day by day as a result of global economic downturn.
He made this known while assessing general governance in the state at an interactive session with the Civic Engagement team led by the Special Adviser to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye at his residence, Osogbo.
He further emphasized that Oyetola is a man with humility, character and high pedigree whose personal qualities have engendered the massive development the state currently enjoys.
He eulogized the general performance of Oyetola's administration in the health, education, agricultural, infrastructure, security and mining sectors which have experienced boost in recent times which was made possible through the application of his knowledge, experience and background in public administration and financial engineering.
"He is getting it right in the aspect of workers and pensioners' welfarism through full payment of salaries which no one knows how he is doing. I believe he must have a magic wand with which he's steering the governance.
"The revolution in the health sector as a result of his aggressive intervention through the upgrading of 332 Primary Health Centers (PHC's) has advanced the state beyond other its peers to the extent that one does not need to travel long distance to access health facilities. Osun has indeed become a model for others in health sector.
"His performance in the infrastructure sector such as road construction should be commended while it is directly aligning to the initial plan at the creation of the state as there was a desire for good road networks among the communities in the state. If he has the opportunity of eight year, our dream will come to reality", he added.
He further stated the creation of Amotekun security outfit as a community based force is in the right direction as its fear to miscreants is a beginning of wisdom leading to a significant reduction of crime rates and making the state maintain its peaceful status.
Aina who was the Chairman of education review panel in the state extolled Oyetola's achievement in the area education especially his education review policy which was primarily informed by the demands of the people.
"I believe the review was not to steer down the policies of the past administration but was in a bid to strengthen the education standard and align the education structure to the national standard which the state is a part", he added.
Aina, an erstwhile executive director of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) emphasized that, mining activities should not be made restricted to powerful individuals and be taken from the exclusive legislative list for inclusive participation of states.
He also admonished the people of the state to further their supports for the government which should be holistic and futuristic.
Aina, an educationist equally urged the people of the state to perform their civic responsibilities for the betterment of the Commonwealth.
He however, beseeched people to change the narrative of political leadership by eschewing taking politics as a profession but having professional skills which will make them better as political leaders.
