NIGERIA AT 66: DIVINE CELEBRATES NATIONAL RESILIENCE, COMMENDS TINUBU’S REFORM EFFORTS

Ambassador Hon. Oluwatobi Olabode Divine, APC Stalwart and Director-General of the Divine Renewed Social Elite Group, has felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Nigerians at home and abroad as the nation marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

In a goodwill message, Divine described Nigeria’s 66th anniversary as a significant moment to celebrate the resilience of Nigerians, honour the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers and renew the collective commitment to building a peaceful, stable and prosperous country.

He commended the economic reform efforts of the Tinubu administration, noting that the Federal Government has presented the current phase as one of moving from reform and stabilisation towards growth, production and shared prosperity. The official anniversary theme is “From Reforms to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity.” 

Divine acknowledged that economic reforms can place pressure on citizens in the short term, stressing that continued attention to the welfare of Nigerians remains important as the country pursues greater economic stability and opportunities.

He said:

“At 66, Nigeria remains a nation of immense potential, blessed with resilient and hardworking people. We must continue to believe in our country and work together to build a Nigeria where every citizen has an opportunity to thrive.”

He further commended President Tinubu for pursuing reforms aimed at addressing structural challenges in the economy, while calling for sustained efforts to ensure that the benefits of economic progress reach households, businesses, young people and communities across the country.

The Federal Government says the reform programme has been accompanied by improvements in areas including economic growth, foreign reserves, domestic refining capacity and investment activity. 

Divine also called on Nigerians to uphold peace, unity, patriotism and mutual respect, emphasizing that the responsibility of nation-building extends beyond government to every citizen.

He added:

“Our diversity should remain a source of strength rather than division. As we celebrate this milestone, let us renew our faith in Nigeria, support peaceful coexistence and contribute positively to the development of our great nation.”

He congratulated Nigerians across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as those in the diaspora, and prayed for continued peace, stability, prosperity and progress.

“May God continue to bless Nigeria, strengthen our leaders, protect our people and guide our nation towards a future of greater opportunity and shared prosperity.”
