Olohunlalaro Welcomes Adeyemo Segun Akobebo, Unity Group And Golden Generation Group To Apc In Obaagun

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ward 11, Obaagun in Ifelodun Local Government, recorded another major political milestone today as Mr. Adeyemo Segun Akobebo officially defected to the party alongside his supporters. Also joining the APC were the Unity Group, led by Mr. Salaudeen Tunde Owoomago, and the Golden Generation Group, led by Comrade Shittu Yunus Akorede.

The new members were warmly received into the progressive family by the APC Ward 11 Chairman, Chief Olayiwola Abdulazeez Sonso, alongside Alhaji Muhammed Saheed Omokehinde Akofe (Olohunlalaro), Alhaja Princess Jimoh Fausiyat Atoba (Alasepeloluwa), Elder Elijah Ojeyemi, and other executive members of the party. Also in attendance were the APC Ward 11 Youth Leader, Mr. Raji Yakubu Agba; the State Party Secretary, Mr. Tijani Oluwafemi; the Ward Women Leader, Mrs. Adepoju Fausat; and a large number of party faithful.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Mr. Segun Akobebo expressed profound appreciation to Alhaja Princess Jimoh Fausiyat Atoba for her tireless efforts, commitment, and leadership, which culminated in their official defection to the APC. He pledged the unwavering loyalty of his supporters and assured the party leadership of their total commitment to delivering victory for the APC and its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), in the August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

Similarly, Mr. Salaudeen Tunde Owoomago and Mr. Oladele Maroof Kopee, who led the Unity Group into the APC, reaffirmed their commitment to mobilizing massive support for the party. They described AMBO as the candidate best positioned to deliver purposeful leadership and sustainable development to Osun State, while pledging to work tirelessly for his victory at the polls.

In his remarks, Comrade Shittu Yunus Akorede, leader of the Golden Generation Group, said the youth of Obaagun had resolved to embrace progressive politics in the interest of the community’s future. He noted that the APC remains the most credible platform to deliver meaningful development and called on residents to vote massively for the party in the forthcoming governorship election.

Welcoming the new members, APC Ward 11 Chairman Chief Olayiwola Abdulazeez Sonso assured them that they would enjoy equal rights and opportunities within the party.

“You are not strangers; you are one of us. The APC is one united family, and together we will work tirelessly to secure victory for our party and usher in a new era of purposeful leadership in Osun State,” he said.

The event ended with renewed enthusiasm and a collective resolve by party leaders, members, and the newly defected groups to intensify grassroots mobilization across Obaagun and Ifelodun Local Government, with the shared goal of delivering a resounding victory for the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), on August 15, 2026.
