Boripe LG Boss, Hon. Sikiru Odebunmi, Debunks Kidnapping Rumors, Reassures Residents Of Safety
The Executive Chairman of Boripe Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Odebunmi, has debunked rumors of bandit attacks and kidnappings in the local government, describing them as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his media office, Hon. Odebunmi said the rumors circulating in towns and on social media about bandit invasion and abductions in parts of Boripe LG are unfounded and capable of causing unnecessary panic among residents.
“There is no incident of banditry or kidnapping in Boripe Local Government. Our communities remain peaceful and our people are going about their lawful businesses without fear,” the council boss stated.
He reassured residents that his administration, in collaboration with security agencies, remains fully committed to protecting lives and properties across all wards in the local government.
“We have a functional security architecture in Boripe LG. We are working closely with the Nigeria Police, our traditional rulers, local hunters, and other stakeholders to ensure 24/7 surveillance of our communities. The safety of our people is non-negotiable,” he added.
Hon. Odebunmi urged residents to disregard fake news and refrain from spreading unverified information that could breach public peace. He also encouraged citizens to report any suspicious movement to the nearest security post.
