The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has accused the Governor Adeleke led Accord party of branding vehicles with its party's symbols to cause violence in the state.

APC described the recently circulated video of abduction and harassment of Osun citizen by suspected PDP/Accord supporters in APC branded vehicle as an event that has been foretold.

In a statement on Friday, the Head, Media and Publicity Committee Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council , Engr Oluremi Omowaiye said the video was a planned attempt to tarnish the image of the party and that of its gubernatorial candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

He noted that the preplanned video was for the ruling party to get undeserved public sympathy from Osun electorates.

It will be recalled that the APC Campaign Council had earlier alerted security agencies and the people of the state of the antics of the PDP/Accord party rebranding some of its campaign vehicles in the APC symbols to cause violence in the state.

Omowaiye stressed, "The recent video learnt credence to our earlier stand about the plan of the ruling party in state to forment troubles ahead of the August 15 governorship election by rebranding vehicles in APC colours.

"Our party will never embark on any unlawful means of winning elections let alone the disturbance of peace in our dear state, APC can not take to the culture of violence which hitherto was not in its character to ensure victory for our candidate who is sufficiently equipped with relevant experience to govern the state.

"The APC will continue to make its campaign an issue based one, we will at all times approach residents and citizens of the state with what we are going to do differently and better to upgrade their lives abundantly rather than resulting to violence and harassment.

"We are of the resolve that elections are not won through violence and harassment of residents and citizens".

The APC Media Campaign Council Head stated that it is disheartening that a self acclaimed peoples party can result to maiming, destruction and harassment of innocent citizens and supporters of its party as a means to winning the forthcoming election in the state.

APC Campaign Council urged the Nigeria Police and other related security agencies to investigate the video and ensure that culpable suspects are made to face the law to serve as deterrent to others.

The Council however condemns in strongest terms the rising culture of intimidation, harassment and violence being perpetrated by the criminal elements acting under the influence of the ruling party in the state.
