Progressive Minds Of Osun West Endorsed Chief Dr. Peter Ogundeji Apata For Senate
In what appears to be a major step toward the selection of a candidate for the 2027 General Election, a youthful platform known as Progressive Minds of Osun West has thrown its weight behind Chief Dr. Peter Ogundeji APATA to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ọsun West Senatorial District seat.
The group described Chief APATA as a youthful, energetic, grassroots-oriented, compassionate, and dedicated party man whose political reach and commitment have significantly helped the APC regain its strength across Ọsun West Senatorial District.
During its monthly meeting held yesterday, members of the group unanimously endorsed Chief APATA, citing his wide acceptance among the people and his strong connection with the grassroots. According to them, his popularity cuts across political affiliations because he has consistently demonstrated the qualities of a good leader, making him the most suitable candidate to secure victory for the APC in the senatorial election.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its leader, Comrade Adejumo Gafar Adeleye, stated: “We endorsed Chief Dr. Peter Ogundeji APATA because we have seen his impact in the party, and from our survey and consultations carried out across the length and breadth of Ọsun West Senatorial District, it is glaring that Chief Dr. APATA is widely accepted and remains the preferred choice of thousands of the masses.”
“Aside from being youthful, energetic, compassionate, and a dedicated party man, many of the electorates we have engaged with have made it known that Chief APATA has worked tirelessly and remains committed to the growth of the APC in the district. His emergence will undoubtedly boost the chances of the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), and strengthen the APC’s chances of coasting to victory in Ọsun West during the 2027 General Election.” Comr. Adejumo concluded
The group then called on leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun West and Osun State at large to ensure a free, fair, and credible primary election among all aspirants. They urged the party leadership to avoid the imposition of any candidate, stressing that such a process would reinforce APC’s image as a political party that truly upholds internal democracy and fairness.
