Osun Youth Honour Dr. Peter Ogundeji Taiwo (APATA) With Award Of Excellence At Youth Governance Conference

Osun West Senatorial District aspirant and renowned community leader, Dr. Peter Ogundeji  Taiwo,  attended the “Youth in Governance Conference”_ organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter.

The conference, held in Osogbo, was convened to strengthen youth participation in politics and governance while grooming a new generation of leaders for Osun and Nigeria.

At the event, Dr. Ogundeji Taiwo was honoured with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding contributions to youth development, grassroots empowerment, and commitment to inclusive governance.

Speaking after receiving the award, Dr. Ogundeji Taiwo, fondly called APATA, thanked the NYCN for the recognition and reaffirmed his belief in the power of youth to drive sustainable change.

“This award is not for me alone  it is for every young person in Osun who believes governance must work for the people. The future belongs to youths who are prepared, and our duty as leaders is to open the doors and hold the ladders,” he said.

He urged Nigerian youths to move from _“social media activism to political participation” and take advantage of the 2026 elections to enthrone leaders with vision and capacity. He also restated his support for APC governorship candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji  (AMBO), describing him as _“a youth-friendly leader with a clear blueprint for Osun’s prosperity.”

The NYCN State Chairman, in his remarks, described Dr. Ogundeji Taiwo as _“a consistent friend of Osun youths and a model of responsible leadership.”_

Dr. Ogundeji Taiwo dedicated the award to the his team Team APATA and youths of Osun West, and pledged to continue investing in programmes that build capacity, create jobs, and promote political inclusion.
