APC INTENSIFIES GRASSROOTS DRIVE WITH INAUGURATION OF 302 POLLING UNIT COORDINATORS IN AYIWOLA

As the 15 August 2026 governorship election in Osun State draws closer, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has intensified its grassroots mobilisation with the inauguration of 302 polling unit coordinators across Ayedire, Iwo, and Ola Oluwa Federal Constituency, collectively referred to as Ayiwola.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Iwo, the administrative headquarters of Iwo Local Government Area, is regarded as a significant step in strengthening the party’s campaign structure in Osun West ahead of the forthcoming election.

The coordinators, drawn from the three local government areas within the constituency, were inaugurated under the APATA 4 AMBO Movement, an initiative spearheaded by Chief (Dr) Peter Taiwo Ogundeji (APATA), a senatorial aspirant for Osun West Senatorial District.

The event attracted a wide range of party stakeholders, including a representative of the APC Chairman in Iwo Local Government, Hon. Joy, local government coordinators of the movement, and women leaders from across the constituency, reflecting broad-based participation and support.

In their separate remarks, party leaders at the occasion unanimously charged supporters and the newly inaugurated coordinators to return to their respective wards and polling units to intensify mobilisation efforts, with the clear objective of ensuring that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) emerges as the next Governor of Osun State.

Speaking at the event, Chief Ogundeji explained that the exercise was specifically designed to mobilise party supporters at the grassroots level and intensify door-to-door campaigns for the APC governorship candidate.

He stated that the newly inaugurated coordinators had been mandated to commence immediate engagement with voters across their respective polling units to ensure effective campaign outreach.

According to him, the initiative forms part of broader efforts to complement the party’s overall campaign strategy and secure victory for the APC in the forthcoming election.

“The essence of this exercise is to commission them to begin door-to-door campaigns for our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the governorship election scheduled for 15 August 2026,” he said. “We have commissioned them to start immediately.”

The senatorial aspirant further noted that the coordinators were expected to take ownership of campaign activities in their respective areas and work collectively towards achieving success for the party.

He also announced that the 25,000 campaign posters unveiled at the ceremony were in support of Oyebamiji’s governorship bid, for distribution across all polling units in Osun West Senatorial District for immediate use, describing the move as part of efforts to boost visibility and strengthen voter engagement.

Chief Ogundeji assured the coordinators of continued support, stating that their welfare and contributions would be recognised as the campaign progresses.

He urged them to regard the assignment as a collective responsibility, noting that success at the polls would be beneficial to all party members.

“Our party is a great party, and we believe that if we work together, we can achieve a lot,” he added. “We have also assured them that we will stand by them at all times and ensure that their efforts are rewarded.”

Political observers have described the development as a strategic consolidation of the APC’s campaign machinery in Osun West, noting that it reflects a deliberate effort to build a structured and results-driven grassroots network ahead of the governorship election.

Similar mobilisation and inauguration exercises are scheduled to take place in the two remaining federal constituencies of Osun West in the coming week, as the party continues to expand its grassroots engagement.

It will be recalled that Chief Ogundeji has, in recent months, been actively mobilising support for the APC governorship candidate through a series of empowerment programmes and “work-to-win” initiatives across the Osun West Senatorial District.
