Hon. Mufutau Adegbite Hosts Ife South CAN to Mark End of Lenten Season, Offers Prayers for AMBO’s Victory

The Executive Chairman of Ife South Local Government, Hon. Mufutau Adegbite, today hosted the Ife South Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in commemoration of the successful completion of the Lenten season. 

The gathering, held in an atmosphere of gratitude and spiritual reflection, brought together Christian leaders and faithfuls across the local government to celebrate the end of the sacred 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and sacrifice observed by Christians worldwide. The occasion served as a moment to appreciate God’s grace and renew commitment to service, unity, and peaceful coexistence.

In his address, Hon. Adegbite congratulated the Christian community for the successful observance of Lent and commended them for their unwavering prayers for the peace and progress of Ife South. He emphasized the importance of sustaining the virtues of sacrifice, love, humility, and compassion imbibed during the Lenten period, noting that such values are essential for societal growth and harmony.

The Chairman further reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that religious bodies remain key partners in fostering moral discipline and grassroots development. He called for continued support and collaboration from CAN and other faith-based organizations in building a more united and prosperous Ife South.

In their remarks, the CAN leadership expressed appreciation to Hon. Mufutau Adegbite for his warm reception and consistent engagement with the Christian community. They lauded his leadership style and people-oriented initiatives, assuring him of their continued prayers and support.

A major highlight of the event was a special prayer session led by the CAN executives, where fervent prayers were offered for peace, stability, and accelerated development in Ife South Local Government. The clerics also prayed earnestly for the victory of AMBO, seeking divine guidance, favour, and success in all political endeavors.

The event underscored the enduring synergy between the government and religious institutions in Ife South, reinforcing a shared commitment to unity, good governance, and the overall well-being of the people.

Hon. Mufutau Adegbite concluded by wishing the Christian faithful a joyous Easter celebration in advance, urging them to continue to uphold the virtues of faith and service for the betterment of society.
