Hon. Mufutau Adegbite Hosts Ife South CAN to Mark End of Lenten Season, Offers Prayers for AMBO’s Victory
The Executive Chairman of Ife South Local Government, Hon. Mufutau Adegbite, today hosted the Ife South Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in commemoration of the successful completion of the Lenten season.
The gathering, held in an atmosphere of gratitude and spiritual reflection, brought together Christian leaders and faithfuls across the local government to celebrate the end of the sacred 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and sacrifice observed by Christians worldwide. The occasion served as a moment to appreciate God’s grace and renew commitment to service, unity, and peaceful coexistence.
In his address, Hon. Adegbite congratulated the Christian community for the successful observance of Lent and commended them for their unwavering prayers for the peace and progress of Ife South. He emphasized the importance of sustaining the virtues of sacrifice, love, humility, and compassion imbibed during the Lenten period, noting that such values are essential for societal growth and harmony.
The Chairman further reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that religious bodies remain key partners in fostering moral discipline and grassroots development.
