BORIPE LG: Odebunmi Enhances Grassroots Security, Distributes Motorcycles To POLICE, DSS, NSCDC And Local Security Outfits

In a bold move to strengthen the security architecture at the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Boripe Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Odebunmi, has distributed operational motorcycles to the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other local security outfits within the local government.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Police Headquarters, Osun Command, Osogbo, through the Osun State Chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Odebunmi stated that the gesture was borne out of his administration’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property across all communities in Boripe. He noted that effective policing requires mobility, especially in reaching remote and rural areas, and the motorcycles would significantly enhance response time and surveillance operations.

“This administration understands that security is the bedrock of development. No meaningful progress can be achieved in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. That is why we are equipping our security agencies with the necessary tools to discharge their duties effectively,” the Chairman declared.

Hon. Odebunmi commended the security agencies for their dedication, sacrifice, and synergy in maintaining peace in Boripe Local Government. He urged them to deploy the motorcycles strictly for patrols and crime prevention, assuring them of continuous government support in the fight against criminality.

Representatives of the beneficiary agencies — including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Vigilante Groups, Hunters, and other local security outfits — expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman and his cabinet, describing the intervention as timely and strategic.

They pledged to intensify patrols, deepen community engagement, and ensure that the motorcycles are put to optimal use for the safety of residents.

The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to prioritize grassroots security, adding that more interventions are underway to guarantee that Boripe remains safe, peaceful, and conducive for economic activities.
