Ijabe in Odo-Otin Local Government was filled with excitement and celebration as Hon. AbdulRauf Temitayo Adegoke, popularly known as Tayo Ijabe, marked his 56th birthday in grand style. The event, held on April 25, signaled what many described as a new beginning for several residents of Odo-Otin Local Government, as the APC chieftain empowered hundreds of women, farmers, and less privileged individuals with cash support, materials, and modern farming equipment.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Tayo Adegoke emphasized that empowering the people has always been a core part of his mission. He noted that the gesture was not a one-time effort but a continuous commitment to improving the standard of living of the people of Odo-Otin.
According to him, the empowerment programme was also in support of the governorship ambition of APC aspirant, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebanji (AMBO), stressing the need for collective efforts in building a stronger and more prosperous future for the state.
As part of activities marking the celebration, Hon. Tayo also inaugurated a door-to-door campaign committee across Odo-Otin Local Government to mobilize massive grassroots support for AMBO ahead of the forthcoming election. He charged members of the committee to remain dedicated, focused, and committed to ensuring victory for the party.
Hon. Tayo Adegoke, who served as a councillor between 1999 and 2003 and later as the Secretary of Odo-Otin Local Government, was widely eulogized at the event for his unwavering dedication to public service and grassroots development. Many speakers described him as a dependable leader whose legacy of service continues to impact lives positively.
The occasion witnessed the presence of prominent APC leaders from both the state and local government levels, who all came out in large numbers to honour and celebrate with the celebrant.
Notably, the Odo-Otin Progressive Like-Minded Group, under the leadership of Hon. Adebayo Temitope Balogun, alongside its members drawn from across the local government, also graced the occasion, showing solidarity and support for the celebrant and the party’s vision.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government, Hon. Dele Adepoju (Iko), said Hon. Tayo Adegoke is a true grassroots politician who has devoted his life to the service of humanity. He commended his consistent efforts in uplifting the people and prayed for more fruitful and impactful years ahead.
The event concluded with goodwill messages, prayers, and renewed commitments from party faithful to continue supporting initiatives that promote development and unity within the community.
