APATA Felicitates Octogenarian Statesman, Engr. Abdelganiyu Olusola Akinwumi @89th Birthday

On behalf of my political associates, I, Chief (Dr) Peter Taiwo Ogundeji, APATA, the Oluomo of Gbotaru and aspirant for Senate for Osun West Senatorial District, warmly felicitate and congratulate an esteemed elder statesman, Engr. Abdelganiyu Olusola Akinwumi, on the remarkable occasion of his 89th birthday.

This milestone, to me, is not only a celebration of longevity, but of a life richly devoted to service, excellence, and enduring impact across multiple spheres of human endeavour.

I recognise Baba Akinwumi as a distinguished progressive whose journey through engineering, administration, politics, and community development reflects uncommon brilliance and discipline.

From his formative years in professional engineering, where he contributed to major infrastructural projects across Nigeria, to his emergence as a respected consultant and business leader, his career has been defined by innovation, courage, and an unwavering commitment to national development.

As a political figure of immense stature, his contributions remain indelible in my estimation.

I have always regarded him as a devoted progressive, from the days of the Unity Party of Nigeria to his strategic roles in subsequent political platforms, where he distinguished himself as a stabilising force and visionary leader.

His tenure in key leadership positions, including his service as Secretary to the Osun State Government, was marked by purposeful governance, people-oriented initiatives, and the nurturing of a new generation of leaders who continue to uphold his legacy.

Beyond titles and offices, I hold him in the highest regard as a political father figure and mentor whose guidance has shaped countless destinies, including mine.

Baba's life embodies wisdom, humility, and steadfast dedication to the collective good, earning him respect across Osun State, the South West, and Nigeria at large.

His contributions to community growth, particularly in Ilobu, remain a testament to his deep-rooted love for his people.

At 89, Baba Akinwumi’s life remains, to me, a shining testament to grace, resilience, and fulfilled purpose. On this auspicious occasion, I celebrate a man whose years are crowned with honour and distinction, and I pray that the Almighty continues to grant him sound health, peace of mind, and more years of impactful living.
