Odo-Otin “Sit-at-Home” Vice Chairman, Hon. Adeboye Sikiru and over 300 PDP/Accord Party Members Defect to APC in OdoOtin Local Government

 

The Accord/Pdp Party in Osun State recorded a major political setback on Thursday as over 300 of its members defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a well-attended reception held at the Okuku Town Hall in Odo-Otin Local Government Area.

The defectors were led by the Odo-Otin “Sit-at-Home” Vice Chairman, Hon. Adeboye Sikiru, who officially announced his resignation from the Accord Party alongside hundreds of his loyal supporters. According to him, the decision to join the APC was based on the need to align with a progressive political platform capable of delivering meaningful development to the people of the constituency.

The reception was organised by Hon. Damilare Francis Eniade, founder of the Eniade Foundation and House of Representatives aspirant for Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency. The event attracted party leaders, stakeholders, youth groups, women leaders and supporters from across the IBO Federal Constituency, making it one of the largest political gatherings in the area in recent times.

Speaking at the event, the Osun State APC Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, described the mass defection as a major boost for the party and a clear indication that the APC continues to gain the trust and confidence of the people across the state.

He commended the defectors for their bold decision and assured them that the party would provide equal opportunities for participation and full integration into its political structure.

On ground to receive the new members includes Hon. Ayodele Adepoju Iko Chairman Odo Otin Local Government, Alhaji Jimoh Asa Chairman Odo Otin APC, and other party stalwarts 

Other notable leaders present included Omooba Adebayo Adeleke Banik, Oluomo Sunday Akere, members of the Osun APC Executive Council and other party stakeholders who welcomed the new members into the party.
