Group Commends Hon Holalekan Omo Odekilekun Over Self-Funded Solar Power Installation at Osogbo Central Mosque

The Osogbo Progressive Vanguard has commended Hon. Olalekan Badmus Omoolore for sponsoring and single-handedly funding the installation of a solar power system at the Osogbo Central Mosque.

The group described the initiative as a landmark achievement and the first of its kind in Osun State, noting that the project would significantly improve electricity supply within the mosque and enhance the smooth running of its religious activities.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Coordinator, Comrade Uthman Sulaiman, said the gesture reflects Hon. Badmus’ commitment to supporting the Muslim community and promoting community development in Osogbo.

According to him, the solar power installation, which was fully funded by Hon. Badmus, will provide a stable and environmentally friendly source of electricity for the mosque, particularly during religious gatherings and evening prayers.

Sulaiman further stated that the initiative demonstrates the lawmaker’s dedication to grassroots development and religious harmony in the state.

He urged residents of Osogbo and members of the Muslim community to continue supporting and praying for Hon. Badmus, noting that such encouragement would motivate him to undertake more people-oriented projects.

The group also highlighted several developmental and empowerment initiatives previously carried out by Hon. Badmus across Osun State. These include empowerment programmes for men and women, installation of street lights in various communities, and other humanitarian interventions aimed at improving the living conditions of residents.

Members of the group expressed optimism that the solar energy project would enhance the functionality of the mosque and serve as a model for similar interventions in other religious and public institutions across the state.
