Ramadan 1447: Obokun LG Boss, Maaroof Ogundipe Calls For Peace, Piousness And Purity During Ramadan And After

The Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Engr. Maaroof Ogundipe, has called on Muslims across Obokun and beyond to embrace peace, piousness, and purity as they observe the holy month of Ramadan 1447AH.

In a goodwill message to commemorate the commencement of the sacred month, Ogundipe described Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to Allah and humanity.

He urged the Muslim faithful to use the opportunity of the fasting period to strengthen their faith, promote unity within their communities, and extend love and support to the less privileged.

“Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink; it is a divine season of purification of the heart, discipline of the soul, and rededication to righteous living. I urge all our Muslim brothers and sisters to embrace peace, piousness, and purity during this holy month and sustain these virtues even after Ramadan,” Ogundipe stated.

The Council Chairman emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among residents of Obokun, regardless of religious or political affiliations, noting that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony and mutual respect.

“As a people, we must continue to live in peace with one another. Our diversity is our strength, and together we can build a more prosperous and united Obokun Local Government,” he added.

Ogundipe also encouraged well-to-do individuals to remember the needy during the fasting period, stressing that acts of charity and kindness are central to the essence of Ramadan.

He prayed for Allah’s guidance, mercy, and abundant blessings upon the people of Obokun, Osun State, and Nigeria at large, expressing hope that the lessons of Ramadan would translate into lasting moral renewal and community progress.
