Muniru Raji Attacks on Rising Osogbo Stars Driven by Selfishness, Not Progress — Dalegan Family Blasts Gov. Adeleke’s SSA

The Dalegan Family of Osogbo has strongly condemned what it described as persistent verbal attacks by Alhaji Muniru Raji, Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Political Matters, against emerging and progressive individuals in Osogbo. 

The family said such actions are motivated by selfish political interests rather than a genuine commitment to the development of the town, warning that the conduct undermines unity, discourages youth development, and threatens the long-term progress of Osogboland.

The family made this position known during a courtesy visit to Engr. AbdulRahman Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director, Marine and Operations of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), in Osogbo.

Addressing members of the Dalegan Family Compound in a warm and cordial atmosphere, Engr. Badmus described the repeated attacks on notable Osogbo indigenes as counterproductive and driven by personal ambition rather than love for the town, stressing that disparaging those contributing meaningfully to the development of Osogbo weakens communal harmony and stalls progress.

Engr. Badmus also dismissed claims that Osogbo did not benefit from the administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor Gboyega Oyetola (current Minister for Marine and Blue Economy) as misleading and contrary to verifiable records. 

He outlined significant political representation and developmental gains enjoyed by Osogbo, including the emergence of a Deputy Governor, commissioners, and other key appointees, as well as federal appointments such as an INEC Commissioner, Chief of Air Staff, Senator, a serving National Secretary of the party, and his own appointment at the NPA, alongside notable infrastructure projects and federal employment opportunities for Osogbo indegenes.

In their separate remarks, members of the Dalegan family stated that the actions and utterances attributed to Alhaji Muniru Raji do not represent the values or position of the family or the people of Osogbo. 

They described his posture as divisive and contrary to the long-held traditions of harmony and communal development cherished by the Dalegan family, reaffirming their commitment to peace, cooperation, and sustained development in Osogbo land through unity and collective responsibility.
