Today, the Chairman, Ife-South Local Government, Hon. (Prince) Adegbite Mufutau  Ayodeji, has once again demonstrated purposeful leadership and deep commitment to the wellbeing of the people with the presentation of the Local Government 2026 budget before the Ife-South Legislative Council. The budget, aptly described as a “Budget of Consolidation and Progress”, is firmly rooted in the principles of grassroots development and the strengthening of local governance structures. It reflects a clear vision to deepen participatory governance while translating public resources into measurable improvements in the daily lives of the people. Through this budget, the Chairman reaffirmed his resolve to entrench accountability, transparency, and people-oriented governance, ensuring that development truly reaches the units, wards, communities and households across Ife-South Local Government.

Central to the budget amounting to # 7,518,692,481.76k (Seven Billion Five Hundred and Eighteen Million Six Hundred and Ninety-Two Thousand Four Hundred and Eighty One Naira Seventy-Six Kobo are strategic priorities aimed at improving the overall quality of life of the citizenry. Significant attention has been devoted to critical sectors such as infrastructure development, primary health care delivery, quality education, environmental sanitation, agriculture, security, and robust youth and women empowerment programmes.

 Equally commendable is the emphasis placed on workers’ welfare and the timely fulfillment of statutory obligations, recognizing the workforce as a vital engine of effective service delivery. This comprehensive approach aligns seamlessly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, reinforcing the commitment of Ife-South Local Government to National development goals through strong local action. The budget stands as a roadmap for sustained growth, social inclusion, and shared prosperity, positioning Ife-South on a steady path toward lasting development and collective progress.
