Honour the Day, Elevate the Girl: Aare (Engr.) Benjamin Kayode Adereti Marks International Day of the Girl Child

In observance of the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child, Aare (Engr.) Benjamin Kayode Adereti, a respected community leader, telecommunications expert, and advocate for educational empowerment, joins voices worldwide to celebrate the resilience, brilliance, and limitless potential of every girl child.

Celebrated globally on October 11, the International Day of the Girl Child emphasises the importance of protecting the rights and opportunities of girls everywhere. This year’s theme, “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being,” calls for renewed efforts both globally and locally to eliminate the barriers that prevent girls from reaching their full potential.

In his remarks, Aare (Engr.) Adereti stressed the necessity of creating environments where girls can learn, lead, and thrive:

“A girl child is not just a daughter of her parents; she is a daughter of destiny. When we support her education, protect her dignity, and empower her voice, we uplift our entire community.”

Aare Adereti reiterated his commitment to championing the education and empowerment of girls, particularly in underserved communities across Osun State. Through his ongoing community development initiatives, he promotes access to quality education, mentorship, and digital literacy for young girls.

He also urged government institutions, NGOs, and community leaders to:

- Combat gender-based discrimination and early child marriage

- Support educational scholarships and vocational programs for girls

- Expand mentorship opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)

- Create safe and inclusive spaces for girls to learn and grow

Aare Adereti called on Nigerians to view the empowerment of girls as a shared national responsibility, emphasising that no society can progress when half of its population is left behind.

“We must collectively build a nation where every girl can rise, lead, and shine. The prosperity of tomorrow depends on the investments we make in girls today,” he stated.

As the world celebrates the International Day of the Girl Child 2025, Aare (Engr.) Benjamin Kayode Adereti urges all Nigerians to commemorate the day by advocating for girls’ rights, investing in their education, and nurturing their leadership potential.
