Aare (Engr.) Benjamin Kayode Adereti extends warm congratulations to the former Chief of Army Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Alani Ipoola Akinrinade, on the auspicious occasion of his 86th birthday.

In his goodwill message, Aare Adereti described General Akinrinade as a progressive patriarch, a fearless soldier, a democrat of uncommon courage, and a true father of the nation. He added: We in Ifeland are proud to lay claim to him as our own, for Baba has always stood as a bulwark of wisdom, sacrifice, and dedication — not only when he is called upon, but even when he feels the necessity to stand for justice, unity, and truth.

The Ìlúfémilóyè recalled the sterling service of General Akinrinade during the Nigerian Civil War where he fought gallantly to preserve the unity of Nigeria, and equally commended his unshaken role in the struggle for democracy as a frontline NADECO chieftain during the military era. According to him, “History will forever remember Baba not only as a war hero but also as a defender of liberty, a custodian of truth, and one of the courageous voices that restored Nigeria to civil rule after the darkest years of tyranny.”

He further noted that General Akinrinade’s life epitomizes patriotism, resilience, and service to humanity, stressing that he remains a shining light for younger generations, an inspiration for leaders, and a living reminder that selfless service is the highest calling.

Engr. Adereti, therefore, prayed for more fulfilling years for the Living People’s Marshal, the Defender of Democracy, and one of Nigeria’s most illustrious sons. He expressed confidence that General Akinrinade’s life and legacy will continue to inspire Nigeria’s democratic journey and fortify the ideals of freedom, justice, and unity.
