Security:- Aragbiji, Other Obas, Security Personnel, Fulani Community In Boripe L.G. Hold Security Meeting As Aragbiji Admonishes Vigilance

Iragbiji, September 3, 2025 –Sequel to reported attacks of bandits and herdsmen in few neighbouring states, Traditional Rulers in Boripe Local Government held a crucial meeting to serve as precaution against such ugly trend.

The meeting which was attended by the Divisional Police Officer for Iragbiji Mr. Festus Owoeye, his counterpart from Iree, Mr. Olanrewaju, the Divisional Officer of NSDC, Amotekun, DSS, National Orientation, Local Vigilante groups, traditional Chiefs etc was organised by all the Traditional Rulers in Boripe LG and hosted by the Aragbiji of Iragbiji in his Palace. 

Basically, the Fulani Community who have been living peacefully in our communities are apprehensive of the incursion of the Fulani bororos who they loath for their tendencies to commit criminalities including kidnapping as it is being  witnessed elsewhere. They spoke in turns and sought the support and assistance of security personnel and the traditional rulers to ward off any possible unwanted guests who may want to surreptitiously hibernate on our land with the intent to commit crime in future.

Kaabiyesi the Aree of Iree, Oba Muritala Ibrahim co-ordinated the meeting while  their Majesties Olona of Ada Oba Dr. Olumuyiwa Ojo, Alaagba of Aagba, Oba Rufus Ogunwole and the Olororuwo of Ororuwo Oba Quomorudeen Adeyemi Bello in turn spoke on the importance of concerted efforts towards disallowing unwanted guests and criminal elements from settling on our lands.

In his keynote remarks, Oba Olabomi called  the Fulani Community out, admonishing them to address the issue of employing 'Bororos' as herders while also charging  them to have strong Vigilante which would  work courageously with the Obas and security personnel to nip in the bud any threat to peace in the Local Government. 

In their respective remarks, the Divisional Police Officers underscores information sharing, vigilance and cooperation as essentially needs to guarantee crime free Boripe Local Government.
