This milestone event marks a significant step towards the formal take-off of the university, which was established on February 20, 2025, when President Bola Tinubu signed the bill into law.

The Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji  (FUADSI) is one of the new federal universities approved by President Tinubu, with a focus on agricultural training and research, contributing to national food security and promoting environmental sustainability.

The university is expected to begin academic operations by October 2025, and will offer a range of academic programs in agriculture and related fields.
