As part of ongoing efforts to revitalize the educational sector in Boripe, the Local Government Executive Council, led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Odebunmi Sikiru , and his counterpart Executive Chairman in Boripe North LCDA, Hon. Bamigbegbin Issac, has commenced a series of strategic meetings with sacked primary school teachers in the area.
The meetings, aimed at finding lasting solutions to the challenges facing the education sector in Boripe Local Government such as the shortage of qualified teachers in public schools have been described as “productive” and “forward-thinking” by participants.

Discussions focused on the modalities for reintegrating the sacked teachers into the system, improving teacher welfare, and enhancing the overall quality of education in the local government.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Odebunmi Sikiru, reiterated his administration's commitment to delivering quality education to the people of Boripe, emphasizing that “education is the backbone of any society, and we are determined to get it right in Boripe.”

He added that these meetings are part of wider efforts to engage key stakeholders and develop a people-focused plan for the transformation of the education sector.

Vice Chairman of Boripe Local Government, Hon. Fabunmi Sunday, pointed out that the previous dismissal of the teachers was politically motivated and assured that steps are being taken to ensure their reinstatement in due course.

Representatives of the affected teachers expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Chairman and his team for the opportunity to engage in open and constructive dialogue. They commended the administration’s approach and pledged their full cooperation and support for the reforms aimed at improving education in Boripe.

The meetings are expected to continue in the coming weeks, as the local government works tirelessly with stakeholders to design and implement a comprehensive transformation plan for the educational sector.
