Boripe LG Inaugurates Market Tax Force

The Executive Council of Boripe Local Government Area, Iragbiji, under the leadership of Hon. Sikiru Odebunmi, in collaboration with the Chairman of Boripe North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Bamigbegbin Isaac Oladejo, has formally inaugurated a Market Tax Force Committee. This strategic move aims to enhance the efficiency and transparency of market rate collection within the local government.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the council secretariat, marks a key step in strengthening the internal revenue system through proper monitoring and coordination of market levies and dues.

In his remarks, Hon. Sikiru Odebunmi, Chairman of Boripe Central, charged members of the committee to serve with integrity, unity, and accountability. He stressed that improved revenue generation is vital to funding local development initiatives and public services.

Hon. Bamigbegbin Oladejo encouraged the task force to approach traders with patience and understanding while ensuring compliance with existing market policies. He emphasized respectful engagement as essential for success.

Vice Chairman Hon. Sunday Fabunmi commended the committee for accepting the responsibility to serve and urged them to uphold diligence and transparency in their operations.

The Market Tax Force is expected to reduce revenue leakages, support better governance, and improve the financial standing of the local government for the benefit of its residents.
