Osun Reinstated Council Chairmen Dissociate Selves From Purported Press Statement.

Reinstated their commitment and loyalty to HE Adegboyega Oyetola- The Hon Minister of Marine And Blue Economy, Federal Republic of Nigeria. 

Our attention have been drawn to a press release  by some people captioned “The Reinstated local government chairmen in OSUN state and their ex-counterparts from 2017 till 2022 have urged the leadership of APC to cede the next  gubernatorial Ticket somehow. 

In a statement  issued in OSOGBO on Tuesday 18th March, 2025 by the Chairman of OSUN ALGON, Hon Samuel Idowu  ABIODUN, said the purported press statement by  the  group  was never  the general agreement of all the Reinstated Council Chairmen and even others  and this  could cause divisions and damages to the Party APC in Osun State.

The statement added that what was stated in the purported meeting and release represented their personal opinions and not the collective stand of OSUN ALGON members nor that of the entire Reinstated Council Chairmen in Osun State.  Though we are not specifically against the Candidate in question or any other Candidates by this rejoinder but we must not allow misrepresentation of opinion as a group while we allow and expect the final decision of our Party at appropriate time.

We are mindful of the fact that the issue of APC Governorship candidate is in purview of our party under the able leadership of  HE Adegboyega Oyetola- The Hon Minister of Marine And Blue Economy and Alhaji Taju LAWAL - Our APC Party Chairman in Osun State  and is yet to be determined by the party leadership and members, which we will not dabble into or take sides until the party decides.

Thus, this action was clearly needless, condemnable and must be disregarded in its entirety by the  members of the public especially the APC family in Osun State. 

I therefore wish to advise both the present and former Council chairmen to be careful and steer clear of any unverified association, group or press release that is capable of bringing the Party APC to dis repute as we re- affirm our undiluted loyalty and commitment to the Leadership of HE Adegboyega Oyetola in his determination to direct the Osun APC to a save and a winning destination. 

In conclusion therefore, I urge both the present and all ex - council chairmen (ALGON) in Osun State to stay united and with a common focus of winning 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun State.
