2025 NASFAT Ramadan Lecture: We're products of grace, charity, says Oyetola

...As Islamic cleric charges Muslims on dedicated charity, alms giving

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola has called on Muslim Ummah to subject all they have to the service of God and humanity. 

Oyetola described charity and alms giving as Allah's commandments that must be obeyed and put into practice by genuine Muslims, particularly the wealthy. 

This is even as frontline Islamic cleric, Sheikh Muhideen Salman Hussein admonished Muslims to rededicate themselves to the path of God by adhering to His commandments. 

Represented by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, National Inland Waterways Authority ( NIWA), Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, at the annual special Ramadan lecture of Osogbo branch of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Faith Society, NASFAT, Oyetola acknowledged the grace of God saying, "we are products of grace and charity."

He recalled the process leading to founding of NASFAT, noting it is worthy of note that the organization that started in a conclave has become a worldwide formidable frontier. 

He thanked God for taking NASFAT to enviable height and for being a reference platform in the propagation of Islam in Nigeria and beyond.

"I am glad today that we were part of the few persons that founded Nasrul-Lahi-L-Faith Society, NASFAT, about 30 years ago. Today we are proud of the great achievements and feats that we have recorded thus far. No doubt, NASFAT has become a formidable frontier in the propagation of Islam and islamic principles and ideals. 

"To us, we are products of grace and charity. This is a platform that has equipped us and taught us more in the righteous path", he highlighted. 

In his lecture, Sheikh Hussein emphasized the need for Muslims to always take from their abundances to support the needy as commanded by Allah and taught by the Holy Prophet. 

The renowned Islamic scholar who doubles as Chief Imam of Offa said the time has come for Muslims across the globe to see charity and Zakat (alms giving) as priorities. 

The cleric whose lecture was underpinned on "Charity and Zakat: Providing Relief and Support during Challenges", called for attitudinal change to charity culture.

Abba Umar; former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke; Hon. Taofeek Gbadamosi; Mrs. Sekinat Oyebamiji; Hon. Bashir Adegboyega Bello; Hon. Ibrahim Taofeek; Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji; Hon. Wasiu Abiona; local government chairmen and councillors among others.
