An Elder statesman, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun has strongly condemned what he described as an avoidable and deadly attack on some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, adding that the people that were attacked only acted on a court ruling that reinstated former Chairman of Local Government Councils in the State.

In a statement signed by a Chieftain of the APC, Prince Adeniran Kilomodemo Ibitoye also known as KLM, Alhaji Oyedokun, who is also the Oluomo of Inisa said it was unfortunate that some members of the party laid down their lives, while many others sustained varying degrees of injuries in the course of returning to their respective councils in line with a judgement delivered by an appeal court sitting in Akure.

Elder Oyedokun particularly commiserated with the Family of a Local Government Chairman, Remi Abass, those who were injured members and all stakeholders in the APC in Ikire over the loss of Remi Abass, whom, he described as a grassroots Politician to the core.

"It is very sad and unfortunate that the situation got to the point where some hoodlums of the ruling People's Democratic Party, PDP in Osun State had to unleash terror on members of our party, just because court reinstated the council Chairmen sacked by the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration.

It is glaring that the PDP does not respect the rule of law and their thirst for power is what led to how they attacked peace loving members of our party and some innocent members of the public, who were brutally injured" Oyedokun said.

He prayed for the forgiveness of sins for the deceased and also wish their families the fortitude to beat the great loss caused by the violence orchestrated by political hoodlums.

"May the Almighty Allah forgive the dead and grant their family the strength to go through these difficult times and I also pray that Osun will enjoy peace again while I wish the injured speedy recovery"

Recall that not less than six persons lost their lives on Monday when some hoodlums launched attack on the reinstated former Council Chairmen in Osun State.
