Osun State, Nigeria.

In a rallying call to members of the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Yomi Ogunwale has urged party members to maintain focus and unity as they prepare to challenge the current government in the upcoming 2026 gubernatorial elections.

He emphasized the importance of setting aside personal ambitions in favor of collective party goals. Ogunwale stressed that the primary objective should be to oust the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led government, which he described as disconnected from the needs of the citizens.

"We must not allow over-ambition to hinder our progress. Our focus should be on how to reclaim Osun State for the APC," he stated.

Highlighting the current administration's shortcomings, Ogunwale pointed to the recent changes to the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme, now relabeled as Imole Youth Corps, and criticized the government's decision to fire employed and deployed teachers and health workers without replacement, leaving schools understaffed and healthcare services wanting.

"Unity within our party is crucial for sustaining our efforts and securing victory in the 2026 governorship election and beyond,” Ogunwale remarked. He implored members to concentrate on winning the election rather than getting distracted by zoning issues.

The Barrister's message resonates with many party members who share a common goal of rejuvenating governance in Osun State. With the 2026 elections on the horizon, Ogunwale's call for unity and focus could be pivotal in steering the APC towards a successful campaign.

Ogunwale has been actively involved in supporting the APC in Osun State, previously extending his support to the party's chairmen and councilors candidates in the 2025 local government elections. His commitment to the party's success is evident, and his rallying call for unity is likely to have a significant impact on the party's chances in the upcoming elections.

Barr. Yomi Ogunwale,
