A Call for Peace in Osun State: Condemning the Aftermath of the Appeal Court Ruling - By Seun Odofin

Barrister Seun Odofin, the respected Principal and Founder of Odofin Oasis Foundation, unequivocally condemns the violent aftermath that ensued following the Appeal Court's verdict on February 10, 2025, in Akure. Despite the ruling being clear and direct, it sparked intense debates and conflicting opinions among stakeholders, leading to the heartbreaking loss of innocent lives in Osun State.

As a peace-loving individual, Barr. Seun Odofin urges all political stakeholders and gladiators in the state to give peace a chance. The senseless killing of innocent people in the name of political struggle is unacceptable, and we must ask ourselves: whom are we to govern if we continue to harm those we are meant to serve?

We urge the key stakeholders in the judiciary, legislature, executive, and security sectors to intervene strategically and uphold peace in our beloved state. It is essential that we reject violence, acknowledging its potential to breed chaos and hinder development.

In the face of this crisis, Swift and collective action is imperative to prevent further bloodshed. We advice the PDP led government in the state to take a cue from Edo State and allow the ruling of the court of law to take its course with a view to upholding the fundamental principles of democratic values, including respect for human life, dignity and rule of law.
