FORMER APC MEMBERS DUMP PDP, REJOINS PROGRESSIVE FAMILY
In what best describes the All Progressives Congress, APC, Osun State Chapter as a party that opens its arms to welcome anyone who choose to subscribe to its Progressives ideologies, the party has welcomed back some former members, who were cajoled into joining the People's Democratic Party, PDP, barely four months after leaving the Osun APC.
This was contained in a statement issued by a Chieftain of the APC and former Lawmaker in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeniran Kilomodemo Ibitoye also known as KLM.
In his opening, Chairman of the APC in Odo Otin Local Government Area, Alhaji Jimoh Aasa during an event held at the Roundabout Square, Ekosin on Sunday, 12th January 2025 appreciated Chief Shuaib Oyedokun for his fatherly role and passion for unity of purpose in the party.
Alhaji Aasa also promised the former members who were rejoining the party that they would not regret their decision to return to the APC. He charged the ward leaders to embrace the returnees with love and accept them back into the party despite their decision to leave the party about four months ago.
During the event organised to welcome the old members back into the fold of the APC, an Elderstateman, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, who referred to the members as those who have decided to return home (Omowale) four months after said Politics is a game of number, hence, the reason why the party must ensure that no member is considered an outcast. He added that the APC would always welcome those who have seen the light and expressed willingness to embrace it.
The ward party leaders were charged to embrace them with love and accept them back into the party despite their decision to leave the party about four months ago.
"The difference between a party with ideology and a party under the ruling of a few self centred people cannot be underestimated, the Osun APC has always demonstrated itself as a Family of the Progressives and I am delighted that our old members have realised that and they have taken the bold step of returning home, we welcome them and assure them that they would not be treated as an outcast". Oyedokun said.
Meanwhile, the former APC members were led back to the party by Hon. Musiliu Aliyu (aka Fountain), Hon. Oladele Tosin (Ibadan), Hon. Adeoye Waheed Adelowo (Efura) and Hon. Oyeleke Olalere (Vulcanizer). In their separate remarks, they pledged their allegiance to the Osun APC, noting that they had to reconsider their decision after weighing their options.
