ODE TO MY DEAR FATHER, PRINCE ISAIAH BABATUNDE ADIO MOROUNFOLA IBITOYE aka BABA OYO

Nineteen (19) years gone just like yesterday when we lost a rare gem, a father, a philantropist, hard working, a no-nonsence, disciplined, humble, friendly, destiny helper, supporter of destiny, community leader, team player, achiever, who passed on 11th October, 2005 and buried on 10th February, 2006.

Baba Oyo as you were fondly called, you indeed left your footprints on the sand of time and everything you stood for showed that you lived a fulfilled life, so much that your memories would continue to linger on.

Even though, you had no formal education, but, everyone who knew you can testify to the fact that you passionately channeled your wealth and other resources towards training both your biological children and other children around you, as you worked tirelessly towards ensuring that they access formal Education.

As one of your children, I can boldly testify to how you facilitated many projects including; electricity, roads, schools, water, among other life impacting projects to your hometown, talk more of how you assisted many indigent/vulnerable people and your life showed that you believed in the development of your community and and environment. 

Indeed, you were a lover of peace, you loved your community and its people, it is an understatement to say that people of Osun and indeed Ondo State, particularly Akure town will forever miss you.

Your legacy lives on and even in death, you will forever be remembered for your doggedness, steadfastness and discipline. Little wonder why I choose to embrace Service to Humanity, because, you made me see reason to see it as the best way to love and never be forgotten.
