APC Welcomes Alhaja Sherifat Alimi-oyetayo, Loyalists After Dumping PDP

The All Progressives Congress, Odo-Otin Local Government Area on Thursday, October 24th 2024 welcomed Alhaja Sherifat Alimi-Oyetayo and many of her loyalists with an open arm, as the party assured them that they would not regret the decision to pitch their tent with the Osun APC.

According to a statement signed by one of the Chieftains of the APC in Odo-Otin, Prince Adeniran Kilomodemo Ibitoye also known as KLM, Alhaja Serifat Alimi-Oyetayo was welcomed by the party chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Aasa and the ward chairman, Mr Waheed Irinoye.

The party Chairman, who expressed delight in welcoming Alhaja Sherifat and her loyalists said she has made the best decision by joining the train of the APC, noting that the party thrives on sound ideology and unity.

According to him, the decision of Alimi-Oyetayo's loyalists to defect to APC is a pointer to their trust and confidence in her ability to make sound decision. 

Also, some notable leaders, Alhaja Bintu Dada, Hon Debo Olaoye, Surv Oluseyi Oke, Hon Mufutau Abioye and an Elderstatesman, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, who was represented by Hon Fatai Ikeola and others described the APC as a home for the Progressives, noting that anyone who is a true progressive will identify with the APC, just like Alhaja Alimi-Oyetayo and her loyalists have done.

Meanwhile, Hon Olumide Osunlana who recently decamped from PDP to APC at Ile-Ife made a special appearance at the venue where he encouraged the Defectors to be part of the Progressives.

Meanwhile, the Defectors across Odo-Otin local government led by Alhaja Seri Alimi-Oyetayo, Mr Oladiji Zakadiji Zackariah, Mr Ganiyu Olatola from Ward 3, Igbaye/Imuleke said their decision to join the APC was borne out of their desire to contribute their quotas towards ensuring good governance through a Progressive style of politicking.

In her remarks, Alhaja Alimi-Oyetayo, who was a strong Pillar of Peoples Democratic Party, not only in Odo Otin local government said she and her followers did not only decide to join the APC, but, have decided to join and play their roles in the interest of the party.

The event was held at the Market Square, Igbaye had in attendance dignitaries and stalwarts of the APC.
