Aragbiji Advocates Mechanised Farming,Visits Accountant General of the Federation. By Akinmodiro Sunday Joshua PSO

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the Osun State first class monarch, Aragbiji of Iragbijiland and Pro-Chancellor/Chairman Governing Council of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) HRM Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi (JP), FCIPM, FNIM, MNIPR, FAFUED, FOSCOTECH, Odundun IV, Asoludero visited the Executive Secretary, National Agricultural Development Fund Al. Muhammed Abu Ibrahim after the 100th Committee of Pro-Chancellors meeting which Oba Olabomi attended alongside with other Pro-Chancellors of Universities in Nigeria.

During a discussion with the Executive Secretary, Oba Olabomi underscores a shift from the traditional labour-intensive farming tools such as cutlasses, hoes etc to mechanisation. 

According to him, Youths avoid farming because of the laborious nature of farming.  He advocates establishment of motorised hand farming tools and urged political office holders to address their constituency funds towards farm implements.

Also, on Wednesday September 25, Hrm. Oba  Olabomi paid  Courtesy visit on the Accontant General of the Federation  Dr. Mrs Oluwatoyin Madein in her expansive office.

Issues affecting the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta and the nation at large were discussed.
