Engr. Olalekan Badmus Charges Every Stakeholder In Osun Education Sector To Contribute To Achieving Meaningful Progress In Osun Educational Sector.

In the Keynote Address by Engineer Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Nigeria Ports Authority ably represented by Rasheed Ayotunde Jimoh at the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) Day, Obafemi Awolowo University chapter, he highlighted the efforts by various administrations in Osun State over the past three decades in revitalizing education system to meet global standards. He noted that primary education is the bedrock of learning and needs special intervention, especially radical ones aimed at improving the quality of education.

Among other things, he noted  the progress in secondary education over the years within the state citing West African Examination Council (WAEC) performance scoresheets, the structure of Osun State's education sector and various government interventions aimed at improving education in Osun State.

However, he also acknowledged several challenges and possible solutions to the challenges facing the highly important education sector in the state.

Finally, he called for collective efforts from all stakeholders in Osun, especially the government to focus on infrastructure, curriculum review, and alignment with global best practices to improve Osun educational standards. He quoted Nelson Mandela's sentiment that "education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world," urging all stakeholders to contribute towards achieving meaningful progress in Osun State's education sector.

Hon Lekan Badmus pledged his support for the association always to ensure that it’s growth and progress. Highlight of the program was cash gifts given to several students who were in attendance at the program.
