Jubilations as Sowande unveils 3rd edition of Oyetola Hand of Fellowship Empowerment Scheme

...says over 2000 households have benefited so far

...as Oyetola lauds its sustainability

The residents of Modakeke in Ife-East Area Office of Osun State and its environs on Sunday went into jubilations as Engr. Kayode Sowande unveiled the 3rd edition of his quarterly empowerment programme christiened Oyetola Hand of Fellowship.

Beneficiaries 

The quarterly empowerment programme which was inaugurated last year had impacted lives of thousands of households since its commencement.

This is even as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola CON extolled Sowande's giving spirit and sense of commitment to humanity.

Recall that the facilitator, Sowade, had in February and July, 2023, empowered over 1000 households with cash and other commodities such as food items and domestic essentials.

Speaking at the occasion, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola attributed Sowande's gesture to the continuation of his people-oriented and masses-focused projects popular called 'Ilerioluwa food support scheme' while serving the state.

Oyetola who was represented by the former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives, Investment and Empowerment, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun said the sustainability of the programme was a clear testament to the commitment of the progressive family to cause of humanity. 

He said: "This programme is erected on three pillars as it teaches three lessons. First is that, it tells us that once upon a time there was a government led by the progressive party that was conscious of the welfare and general wellbeing of the people. It shows that there was a government in Osun that put the vulnerable and the needy at heart and that was the government of Oyetola. 

"Secondly, this programme tells us that as we are not forgetting the memory of a government that took care of the vulnerable citizens that government will return to power. And that there's need for us to continue to observe the good gesture as progressive family.

"So, I want to assure our people that by the grace of God our party is coming back to power to continue the good works that we are known for. 

"I want to appeal to the beneficiaries to use the money and other items given judiciously. We should avoid lavish spending, this is the only way to appreciate the donor the more."

Addressing journalists shortly after the programme, Sowande attributed the continuity of the programme to his unwavering commitment to give back to the people particularly the vulnerable and the needy.

Sowande who acknowledged the present socioeconomic reality in the country, called on the citizens to exercise patient saying 'tough times never last.'

Some of the beneficiaries who couldn't hide their feelings on the kind gestures extended to them, extolled Sowande for always putting smile into their faces. 

Mr Rafiu Oladipupo; Mr Akintayo Felix; Mrs Alani Omowumi; Mrs Faleye Olayinka among others pledged to use the cash judiciously just as they prayed God to continue to enrich the donor. 

Chief Adetunji Wahab Bolarinwa, an All Progrsssives Congress, APC chieftain, appreciated Sowande for sustaining the quarterly empowerment programme.

Chief Bolarinwa who admonished the leadership and members of his party to remain resolute in the state, noted that the signs were glaring enough for the victory of the party in the future elections.
